Many of our clients book us straight over email. However we are happy to meet anytime over zoom or a phone call! We'll walk you through the process step by step and give you all the information that you need to make everything as easy as possible.
initial meeting
Together we'll pick out a location that best represents your family and the look and feel that you are wanting.
Gardens, beaches, rustic barns, forest, I have lots of options to suggest. If your family has a property or a special place that you love, I'm happy to go their too!
Picking a location
I can and will send you tips on wardrobe and how to prepare for your session in the weeks leading up to your booking. This will help you and your family to be well coordinated and give your images a stylized look!
prepping for your shoot
On the Day of your session, please aim to arrive 15 minutes early to the location. Your session time will start and end at your specified time, no exceptions so please don't be late and prepare for traffic!
If the forecast that day is calling for bad weather, please be prepared that we may need to re-schedule. If this happens I'll be in direct contact with you so we can work out a good solution!
your session day
Your final photos will be delivered approximately 2 weeks from your session date. All photos received will be perfectly colour corrected for natural tones, cropped and personally curated by me. I take great effort to ensure that all of your photos delivered are the best of the best! All final photos will be emailed to you with an on-line gallery and a link to download direct to your computer. Print options are available and can be made directly through your online gallery! Super Easy!

WHAT IS LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY?

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

WHY DON’T YOU RELEASE ALL OF THE PHOTOS YOU TAKE?
What you wear for your session is just as important as location and lighting, it can make or break an image. So here are a few quick tips.
+ wear solid coloured clothing
+ choose muted tones that are a bit subdued
+ choose similar tones for your top and bottom (both dark or both light)
+ choose 1-3 colours for your group portrait, ones with similar tones that go nicely together and have everyone work within that colour palette. For example: dark green, navy, and burgundy – all dark jewel tones. OR tan, a lighter olive green, and denims – all lighter, softer tones.
+ choose a top with sleeves at least to the elbow
+ choose long pants for men/ladies or a skirt below the knee for ladies
+ choose dark socks and footwear (unless it’s a barefoot photo on the beach)
+ keep jewellery simple and minimalistic
+ do your hair the way you’d normally do it while wearing these clothes
+ if getting a haircut or new hairdo, make your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to your portrait session
DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOS?
To be able to provide my clients with superior turn around times I do outsource some of my editing, I have a professional company apply my stylized preset and do all of the colour correcting and lighting adjustments. However I choose all the images to be edited based on the best of them and what i know you want, I do all of the cropping and final touch editing. Every image you receive has been approved and edited by me.
IS STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY AVAILABLE?
Currently I do not have a studio space. I do have experience in working in studio and with studio lighting and if that is what you require, arrangements can be made for an added price.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
Turn around time for your primary gallery is 1-2 weeks. Once you receive your gallery, depending on your package you'll get to select a number of images for cosmetic editing. This means skins softening, blemish removal, teeth whitening, stain removal, stray hair removal, etc. basically anything that can be done to make the image perfect for use. That process also takes 1-2 weeks.
WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT?
As we understand things can come up, rescheduling your session is no problem at all. We ask that you try your best to give us 24 hours notice. If 24 hours notice is not able to be given based on your reason for cancelling a cancellation/rescheduling fee may apply. Rescheduling due to bad weather is not subject to any fees.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?
We do not issue refunds for cancellations, if you decided to cancel and not reschedule then you forfeit all money paid. You can reschedule anytime, credits do not expire as long as we are still doing photography. The value of your originally booked session can go towards a future session however you may be subject to pay the difference if over that time our fees go up.
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I RECEIVE?
This depends on how long your booked session is for. Typically we give 50-100 image per hour. We do not put limits on the amount of images that you receive but we always over-give.
WHY DO YOU RECOMMEND THAT I PRINT THROUGH YOU?
In your contract it states that you have permission to print the images for personal use anywhere that you would like. We do offer print services and hope that you'll work with us for your printing needs. We can not guarantee the quality of your prints if you go somewhere else. We do offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee of all prints purchased through Loverly Photography.
WHAT TIME OF DAY SHOULD WE SCHEDULE THE SHOOT?
What we in the industry call "Golden Hour" is the absolute best time of day for any and all portrait sessions. This is approximately 2 hours before sunset. The lighting is warm and perfect for skin tones. Plus because the sun is lower at this time it opens up the places we can shoot because there is more open shade. Open shade is way better then harsh lighting and weird shadows that happen more in the mid day.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE LOCATIONS TO SHOOT?
I'm open to shooting at any and all locations. My favourite part of being a photographer is finding and getting inspired by new places that my clients bring me too. A lot of my families love to go to Ball's Falls as there is lot's of cool spots and versatility for backdrops. It's beautiful in all seasons too. But i love going to the beach and cool and unique places in and around Niagara.
